Clarks Summit PTA Meeting Minutes

September 22nd 2022

  1. Call to Order- Meeting was called to order by Kyla Augustine Secretary at 7:01

    p.m. in the school auditorium.

  2. PTA President Welcome -Danielle Fisne President welcomed everyone to our

    first PTA meeting of the year.

  3. Voting on Board Seat - A vote was called for the position of President with

    Danielle Fisne running as an uncontested nomination, all votes were Yay. A vote was called for the position of corresponding secretary, Ashley McVeigh ran

    uncontested and all votes were Yay. Lissa Metzger was removed as President, and Gary Rozman was removed as 2nd Vice President. Ashley McGlynn and Andrea Pullo were added to the board as VP 2 and VP respectively.

  4. Principal’s Report- Mr. Emiliani commented on the great turn out this year, and how they had a great start to the year. Ice cream starts on 9/30 and the sign up genius link was sent out via remind/school messenger.The school store will be starting up soon and we will need volunteers for that. We will be having a pep rally on 9/30 as well with the high school band and athletes. Picture Day will be 10/3 and 10/4 this year. Kids Club will be starting up on 10/3 with an expected 3 more sessions to follow this year, and scholarships are available for those who need it, please email Mario with any questions. Reflections need to be submitted by 10/14 and this year's theme is Show Your Voice. Halloween Fun Night and Book Fair will be held on 10/28 and the Parade will be on Monday 10/31. Security Drills will be occurring this year, in addition to all classroom doors being locked. There will be an active shooter training seminar held at the middle school on 10/10 for all faculty and staff. There is a check from Weis for 400 dollars being donated to PBIS, and we are looking into a spirit wear sale specifically for PBIS.

  5. Committee Reports- Halloween Fun Night will need volunteers for the trunk or treat, the locker room and the book fair. There will be a gertrude hawk sale held next month. Homeroom parents are responsible for attending 3 meetings as well as heading up 3 parties in school and delegating responsibilities to homeroom helpers. There will be a 4th grade committee parent interest letter going out to start organizing 4th grade fundraisers and events. There will also be a Chipotle fundraiser held on 11/7. Please be mindful of taking pictures of your children throughout their elementary school years, they will need them when they reach 4th grade. Kids Club will run from 10/3 to 11/11 with additional sessions coming up this year, we are still looking for parents to help during transfer times 2:55 to
